The Atlas Mountain Itinerary offers an opportunity to ride in the cooler temperatures at altitude when similar locations are more restricted by fire regulations or are just too hot. The itinerary is flexible so night stops can vary according to the mood of the group. Accommodation is primarily camping, taking advantage of the longer summer days and mild evenings.
Day 1 – Sunday
Leave hotel in Midelt to start the climb up into the Atlas following the Cirque de Jaffar, a classic off road route often impassable in winter months due to snow and avalanches. 160km to Lake Imachil.
Day 2 – Monday
150km route along High Atlas Middle Atlas tracks to Bin el Ouidane, a typical Berber town with a huge lake, damned to provide electricity for Marrakech.
Day 3 – Tuesday
200km to Khenifra.
Day 4 – Wednesday
130km to Ifrane entering the ancient Cedar Forest with its famous monkey inhabitants.
Day 5 – Thurday
Infrane is French colonial alpine town built at 1655 meters, know as little Switzerland it still acts as an administrative centre with a royal palace built for Sultan Muhammed Yusuf, 140km to Missour.
Day 6 – Friday
150km return to hotel in Midelt
